Ok, first Christmas candy of the season today:
3 cups chocolate chips
1 TSP vegetable oil
3 cups cashews
1 1/4 cups of toffee bits.
Melt chocolate chips & oil in microwave. Melt for a minute, then stir. Then in 30 second increments till all melted. Add cashews & 1 cup of crumbles. Mix together. Drop by tablespoon onto waxed paper & sprinkle leftover toffee bits on top while wet. Let harden & eat!
I'm always impatient so I put on a small cookie sheet & put in freezer for about 15 minutes because they were not hardening fast enough to suit me.
Also, the original recipe said to use "solid vegetable shortening" AKA Crisco. I have not bought Crisco in 20 years & it was $4.29 at the grocery. I figured it would just melt anyway so the oil worked fine.
I test drove a couple. Pretty yummy! Before 6pm of course.
